Fabulous, Fantastic, Freeing, Finish to 2026

Time management, waiting, perfection, transitions, making the best of where you areYes, You read it correctly – I’m talking about 2026, the end of 2026. As we have been dipping our toes into the waters of another year (In Numerology a Year 1), we’ve been thinking about goals, vision boards, vacation plans, and career navigation. At the Unity Spiritual Center of Vero Beach that I attend they had us write a letter to ourselves expressing where we (hoped) we would be by the mid point of the year. I chose, with some trepidation, FAITH as my #WhiteStoneWord for 2026. Trepidation because I’ve noted that whichever word I’ve chosen tends to bring on challenges and experiences that highlight that word.

So where would I like to be at the end of 2026? Where, with whom, and what would I (we) want to have as a part  of this BLINK that is our existence on this plane?

In the #CourseOfMiracles discussion group I’ve been meeting with on Wednesday mornings here in Downtown Fort Pierce, there was a quote this AM that suggested, “A healed mind does not plan. It carries out the plans which it receives through listening to Wisdom that is not its own.” (Lesson 135, paragraph 12). While that tends to trigger denial in the fear based psyche of a long term planner – self insured in my 20’s, will and trusts set up, savings and investments, all those things that “responsible people” have, I actually operate most of my life by listening intently to where I am directed to move, speak, take action. I revert to journaling, prayer, meditation, creating ART,  as ways to access deeper sources of wisdom. Perhaps that has been the blessing of having unreliable adults in my life – I learned LONG ago that the wisdom I (and those adults) possessed left much to be desired. I found solace and counsel in the paths of NATURE, the still, quiet voice of intuition, and the whispers of ideas and warnings from…

That said I/We do live in this world of mortgages and credit cards, bank accounts, and politics, and choosing to be “In the world yet not of it,” can feel like a luxury. So perhaps goals can be more thought of as suggestions to the Universe, intentions to keep our minds and hearts directed to those things that make us feel excited, inspired, encouraged. If what the Divine offers up isn’t exactly what we’ve imagined, finding gratitude and appreciation for both that which is, and checking in with the feedback we’ve received seems a healthy way to engage.

Vision Board

Back to the title – Intentions for exciting opportunities, in my business who’s ideas have finally been coalescing – Artmaking as a Mindfullness Tool, to travel, perhaps another RV road trip, or booking that trip to France, more teaching, more FUN adventures, better health, all of these and more are touchstones now.

Our time is limited, our joys can be fleeting, maybe today is a day to reconnect to what it is YOU (I/We) want our lives to be about.

Just a Thought 😉

Balance Is The Journey

No matter what your persuasion, political, gender orientation, economic, professional, spiritual practice & beliefs, or any other of the dichotomies we humans have invented, these times have manifested, at least for me, strong undercurrents and overtones that are challenging to equilibrium.

So how can I/We successfully navigate these waters? Well, we can move in to reaction, anger, sadness, hopelessness, and apathy, or withdraw from the opportunities and changes in our worlds. We can spend all of our time ignoring the happenings of the world we are living in, or get swallowed up in angry protests whether for or against.

As a Scorpio born just past the Libra cusp, this search for balance has been an on ongoing journey. Scorpio’s have the trait of intensity – strong beliefs held and expressed, while the Libra’s trait is for balance, equilibrium, and the ability to see all sides of every story. The conflict in this is the blessing/curse that I can passionately advocate strongly for many sides causing confusion and emotional upheaval. An ongoing conversation lately is how do we maintain mental and emotional balance while still participating in the causes that we believe in, not sure that there is any easy answer.

Lately I’ve been attending a Course Of Miracles study group. Some of the wisdom from this group includes the suggestion to detach from outcomes, trusting that in the end all will be well. Even if it isn’t objectively true, in my experience, Acting As If, as my mentor Jack Canfield says, goes a long way to maintaining mental health. Meditators of many types posit that taking the time for a Present Moment, combined with a Gratitude focus, are ways to get (& stay) there. Journaling and allowing art to emerge, some literal, and some completely abstract helps give voice to some of the different voices.

As usual I can’t claim answers, only suggestions – we all need to experiment with what works best for ourselves.

Here’s to EQUILIBRIUM !

Harvest Time 2025

Caring, original Painting, Take Care of yourself, Love yourself First, Painting, St LUcie Cultural Arts AllianceHi All!

It’s been a dramatic, and in some ways traumatic few months since posting here. Admitting to the realization that much of the life of Inner Voices Outer Vision takes place on Social media (Facebook and Instagram) rather than here on the blog site. That said the deeper, more long winded expressions often roll out here. I’ve also been shifting focus to studio classes, and supporting the mission of the St Lucie Cultural Alliance where I am privileged to rent studio space.

Ongoing, Thursday evening “Drop In & Draw,”  the monthly “Life Drawing Open Studio,” in the Alliance’s Vault gallery. I have been lobbying hard, and now have the support of the Alliance team to try to bring more of these, and other trainings and Explorations here.  This is so much a part of what I’ve always envisioned a an expression of my own life’s purpose – using art as a way to “Nudge, Teach, and learn each of us, including me, to and towards our highest becoming. So despite the energies dancing currently in our greater world, there are exciting and happy indications of a blooming in this corner of the world.

Upcoming are a Vision Board Exploration (Jan 12th), Beginning Water Color Painting (Jan 11th), Artmaking to Express & Explore Your Emotional Landscapes, (Feb 3rd), Intro to the Success Principles (March 3rd), with more to come!

Updates From The Journey

Journey to the Center of Yourself…

Always remember to take some time to yourself, to care for yourself, to LOVE yourself. I know this , and with the chaos of the last months, sometimes it’s been a challenge to re-member. I am always struck by the belief that somehow overtakes – that I should be done, that all those tools that I’ve amassed over the years can now be put away in some mental closet.

WRONG

Those wonderful tools passed to us from mentors, and traditions of self awareness, contemplation, meditation, affirmation, exercise and self care – more important than ever as I/we move beyond the comforting communities of faith and support. Re-membering over and over, even being willing to start over, ALL a part of the process. Or so we’ve been taught. So Here’s to the toolbox. Here’s to the starting over again. Here’s to Loving yourself by taking care of yourself – because WE DESERVE it!

Journeys and Adventures

eclipse 2024 Not the best picture, and what can you expect from a 4+ year old Android phone. The adventure though, that was really something. 7 years ago I had decided to head multiple 100’s of miles from MD to TN to view my 2nd #ToatalEclipse. This choice was the beginning of many many, dramatic changes in my life – the loss of my business, the sale of my house and boat, my husband’s stroke, my mother’s death, and also the reclamation of MY life’s purpose, To Nudge, teach, and learn, each of us to and towards our highest becoming, utilizing my curiosity, creativity, and WONDER, to help make this world better – of course while leaving room for that which is even better, for the highest good of ALL.

A mouthful right?

Ultimately the point as it has been for me, since being a young child encouraging my friends to draw together at the dining room table, the desire to share #ARTMAKING as a way to see ourselves, and share with each other the wisdoms and beauty of creation.

Noting this, reconnecting to this has been a journey, a privilege with each group, or individual I work with -formally, or for fun at an event.

Fast forward to April 2024 and my now 3rd #TotalSolarEclipse the magic and wonder still so much a part of my life, the lovely synchronicities of an almost cloudless sky (when everything was predicted otherwise), a truly loving and friendly collection of spiritual seekers randomly gathered at this tiny town. Such awe at our place demonstrated by the cosmos.

Thanks is what I have to offer, for my studio, my new friends, my artist colleagues, and the Alliance for giving me an artistic home.

The Book Club Is Now OPEN!

The Self-Empowerment, Self-Development,  Self-Exploration Book Club…

Has completed another journey through THE ONE THING, by Gary W Keller, and Jay Patterson

It’s taken us several months, reading and discussing each chapter a week at a time, and, it was sure worth it. The take-a-ways have been impactful to everyone who participated. As is our process, we now reopen the club to folks who would like to explore with our process before committing to the next book journey. We call this our “Palette Cleanser.”

For the next couple of weeks while we choose our next book, the participants offer to share mini versions of their programs, ideas, and processes – generally giving us all the opportunity to enjoy exploring their offerings, and giving all of us the opportunity to get to know each other better. This week (Jan 16th) Laverne Wilson will be taking us through a taste of her new program, “Unlocking Your BLISS – Find Joy in the journey.”     The following week our resident #Decluttering expert, Alana Whylie, will be sharing some very effective hints and processes.

We meet on ZOOM, Tuesdays at 10AM ET

The book will be chosen by a prayfully blind draw from our magic box with a list of suggested books. After about a week (maybe 2) after starting the book we close the group again until the next completion. We find this adds to the depth people are willing to engage the material with. There is a reason it’s called the Self- Development, Exploration, and Empowerment Book Club, we really “work the book” together as we go through the weekly readings. Leadership is rotated on a volunteer basis so everyone has a chance to lead if they are interested.

If you are interested in hearing more, have questions, or just want to say, “I’m IN!” please send and email with SELF DEVELOPMENT BOOK CLUB in the subject line to: 1voice@innervoicesoutervision.com or reach out on Social Media to InnerVoicesOuterVision

Upcoming Events in 2023!

Studio Spa, St Lucie Cultural alliance, Ft Pierce Art, Artmaking and Soul“Utilizing Artmaking to open deeper conversations with ourselves, so that we can access our own wisdom to guide us forward in our lives.”

So Excited!

And a little nervous… to be publicly offering both online an in person events at THE NEW STUDIO!!!

The St Lucie Cultural Alliance has graciously allowed us to have a space that can be used for live events, as well as my own art projects – I am in HEAVEN! After multiple years in very small spaces (or other peoples homes) I finally have a place that I can spend concentrated time doing my own art explorations. In addition it’s a wonderfully intimate space for either individual coaching and consulting, but small group explorations as well. I am announcing a full slate of events – most of which have a hybrid or online component for those who are either out of the area, or desiring the ease of working from home. Please check them out, and if you have any suggestions or ideas for me feel free to reach out as well.

Hope you can join me/us on our explorations!

Next steps after achieving a goal or MORE BABY STEPS

Baby Steps!

You set a goal, taken the steps to get there. You were vigilant at maintaining your focus and attitude with the tools in your toolbox: reviewing your goal, taking action,  doing affirmations, using EFT tapping when you had anxiety, etc.

The journey of accomplishment stretches and develops us like nothing else. Challenging our old paradigms and beliefs, then coming out successful builds your self confidence and makes it that much more possible to tackle that next vision, dream, and go after those desires. Well what if it isn’t perfect, you fell short?

I was working with a goal last year to “Achieve and maintain my goal weight of 134# (or less) by Dec 31st, 2022” and guess what, I didn’t make it. I could have beaten myself up, decided since I didn’t get there I should just give up, etc. Instead I chose my focus. I focused on what I had accomplished.

I went from 185# to 137# a total of 48#’s, wow, I am amazed just typing this!  I developed much better eating habits, gave up alcohol (still working with sugar issues some), and I exercise almost every day. Am I still moving forward – absolutely!

You’ve Done it!

It’s so easy for us to discount what we have accomplished and therefore robbing ourselves of that all important boost of energy and self esteem needed to take on new challenges. Remembering the the journey of working towards a goal is so much more than just getting to the goal. We develop discipline, awareness, and yes self confidence. Let’s celebrate those achievements at each step of the way. You achieved your goal!

Whoo Hoo! It worked!

SO, Now What?

What’s next after the celebration? Well perhaps you have other goals in your life already, in which case go for it! Take the time to break it down into milestones, baby steps, and create your affirmations and visual touchstones. You know the drill now, review them daily, feel inside how it will be when you have accomplished the goal.

But what if you don’t know what’s next, what if you are caught up in the letdown that can follow an achievement?

Taking the time to  reconnect to you purpose, passion, and wheel of Life (the different areas that make up a balanced life), and even just asking, “What do I want,” can get you started.

tend your garden, watch the self talkRemember, as far as we KNOW – we only have this one life so using your time and focus to move you in the directions you WANT to go seems like a very good way to spend you time and effort. I always like to say, “No one lives in here besides you.”
